MAYOR PERKINS LIKELY TO LOSE APPEAL TOMORROW

Shreveport mayor Adrian Perkins has appealed his disqualification by Caddo District Judge Brady O'Callaghan to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.The case will be argued tomorrow (Fri.) before a three judge panel.

Caddo District Judge O'Callaghan just ruled that Shreveport Mayor Adrian Perkins is disqualified from this year's mayor election.Unless this ruling is overturned either by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals or the Louisiana Supreme Court, Perkins will  not be on the Nov. primary ballet for mayor.

WILL SHREVEPORT'S AMAZON FULFILLMENT CENTER OPENING BE DELAYED?

 Amazon has been very tight- lipped when asked when the much ballyhooed Shreveport fulfillment center would open.Freightwaves.com published an article on July 3 stating that Amazon plans to cancel or delay plans for at least 16 warehouses this year.And guess what?Shreveport is on the list.

CADDO COMMISSION TO CONSIDER FUNDING FOR RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE

The agenda for the Caddo Commission work session today (Mon.) includes an ordinance to provide funding for a proposed Ronald McDonald house in Shreveport.The ordinance is a two -reader. This means that the earliest it can be adopted is the Commission's regular meeting on Thurs. July 18.

LAWSUIT FILED CHALLENGING MAYOR PERKINS RESIDENCY

Francis Deal has filed a lawsuit objecting to the candidacy of Mayor Adrian Perkins.The attorneys are Jerald R. Harper and Hugo A. Holland, Jr.The case has bee assigned to Caddo Judge Mike Pitman.The suit alleges that Perkins filed a false and inaccurate Notice of Candidacy.
