Campaign signs are a fact of life in Shreveport.Sometimes its fun holding signs and standing behind them.Its all part of the process.Here are recent “sign pictures” of the run off candidates for Shreveport city court judge.The election is this Saturday, Dec. 5.

ABSENTEE BALLOT DEADLINE IS FRIDAY FOR RUNOFF ELECTION

This Saturday is the runoff election. On the ballot are races for Shreveport city judge, justices of the peace and Hosston mayor and police chiefs.The deadline for absentee ballots to be received by Caddo Registrar of Voters is Friday at 4:30 p.m.

YOU CAN EARLY VOTE TODAY AND SATURDAY

Surprise--Louisiana is now honoring Acadian Day on Black Friday.That means today (Wed.) and Saturday are the last 2 days to early vote for the Dec. 5 election.The Registrar of Voter's Office is open from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.

CITY SALES TAXES UP OVER 2019

KEN KREFFT CONTRIBUTING COLUMNISTShreveport’s 10-month year-to-date sales tax receipts are $104,897,747.42. A year ago, the same 10-month total was $104,418,155.64. The latest sum is $479, 591.78 above last year.This is why in my recent Focus column, I suggested that the city not borrow $35,000,000.
