Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux has made it known  since taking office in 2022 that he wanted to run for a second term as mayor in 2026. He currently has more than $510,000 in campaign funds and can easily raise additional money if needed to fuel his re-election effort.

PIERRE GETS TO DOUBLE DIP ON PUBLIC DOLLARS FOR FOUR MONTHS

Markey Pierre was hired by Caddo Parish Administrator Erica Bryant to be a lobbyist at the Louisiana legislature on a six-month gig starting in April of this year at the rate of $5,000 per month. Her contract expires in September. The Legislature ends Monday, June 1.

NEW LOUISIANA QUALIFYING DATES FOR NOVEMBER ELECTIONS

Traditionally the qualifying dates in Louisiana for the November elections are July 29-July 31. This year the qualifying dates have been changed to August 5- August 7 due to the redistricting of the U.S. Representative districts. Thus, candidates for U.S. Senate, U.S.
