The Caddo Commission meets today, Monday, for its work session at 3:30 p.m. The Shreveport Police Officers Association has requested the Commission fund $2.7 million for 40 police cars. Mayor Tom Arceneaux has submitted a Shreveport Police Department (SPD) funding list to the Commission.

Erin McCarty 710KEEL.com Caddo Parish leaders are in the early stages of discussing a proposed multi-sports complex that could attract sports tourism to the region. Parish Administrator Erica Bryant outlined the plan during an Economic Development meeting earlier this month.

SIRA is the Shreveport Implementation and Rehabilitation Authority. SIRA was donated a five-acre lot on Greenwood Road in January of last year (2025). SIRA completed the purchase of the old YWCA on Pierre Avenue mid-summer of last year. SIRA has been funded $100,000 by the City of Shreveport.
