It’s not rocket science. Political yard signs can NOT be placed on public property, the area between the sidewalk and the street, or empty lots without the permission of the landowner. Geez—if a candidate is to hold public office, can they not follow a simple ordinance.

Most NW LA Sales Taxes Are Up

by Ken Kreft All 3 major Caddo Parish sales taxing jurisdictions rose in November over 2024.  Only 1 of 3 did so in Bossier Parish. The City of Shreveport, using a calendar fiscal year, tallied $14,043,720 in November.  This was a 0.4% increase from last year's $13,984,328.

A SHREVEPORT DATA CENTER WILL PROVIDE MANY MUCH-NEEDED JOBS

Unemployment of residents in a city/parish is always a challenge for many reasons. It is much more challenging in the minority communities. Large scale construction projects always provide many, many jobs for laborers, --especially those without highly technical job skills.

ANOTHER DELAY BY CADDO TAX ASSESSOR ON TAX NOTICES IS PROBLEMSOM

Caddo Parish Tax Assessor Regina Webb has again dropped the ball on providing tax information to the City of Shreveport and the Caddo Parish Sheriff Department. This means, like last year, that Shreveport and Caddo real estate owners will be getting their ad valorem tax bills this month.
