WHY ONLY ONE JULY MEETING OF CADDO COMMISSION

The Caddo Commission is the governing both of Caddo Parish.The twelve (12) commissioners are the highest paid part time elected officials in the state--over $22,000 per year.Generally the Commission meets on the first and fourth Mondays and Thursdays of the month.

During the last legislative session Caddo Parish Administrator Erica Bryant sent a letter on behalf of the Caddo Commission supporting the extension of the state's film tax credits. Representative Danny McCormick opposed this legislation.

OUTCRIES OVER SOLAR FARMS HAS LEAD TO NEW RULES BEGINNING IN 2026

Many north Caddo residents were unhappy when the 72.5 megawatt Rockin' R Solar Farm was recently constructed in Hosston.The $82 million project, visible from I-49, is the first utility-scale solar project in Caddo Parish. The 1,000-acre solar farm should generate  electricity to power 20,000 homes.

WILL PENDING PURCHASE OF PROGRESSIVE BANK SET TREND LOCALLY

One of Louisiana's largest banks, based in Baton Rouge, has announced a deal to purchase Progressive Bank. b1Bank is set to close the purchase in early 2026. The transaction must be approved by regulators and Progressive shareholders. Progressive Bank was founded 50 years ago in Winnsboro.
