SHREVEPORT CITY COUNCIL NEEDS TO APPROVE EXPO HALL LEASE TODAY

It’s time to move on and give Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson what he wants.He has a key to the city, a lease of Millennium Studio, a pending lease of an auxiliary building adjacent to Millennium, and lotsa downtown real estate.Today, the Shreveport City Council should approve the Expo Hall lease.

ANOTHER FIRE AT VACANT APARTMENTS , ANOTHER FIREFIGHTER INJURED

If this headline sounds familiar, it is.On Saturday, March 15, Shreveport firemen were dispatched to the Villa Norte Apartments on Fullerton Street. The building was vacant at the time and there were no occupants.The last fire reported at these apartments was in November of last year.

NO NEW SPEED CAMERAS IN SHREVEPORT UNTIL LEGISLATURE ADJOURNS

The installation of speed cameras in Shreveport neighborhoods has been approved by the Shreveport City Council on a 4-3 vote. Grayson Boucher, Jim Taliaferro and Gary Brooks opposed the cameras.The council action authorizes as many as 12 cameras throughout the city. The cameras will operate 24/7.
