BOSSIER CITY COUNCIL’S FIRST MEETING IN CITY COURTROOM SUCCESSFUL

The city council chambers at Bossier City Hall are currently undergoing a much needed upgrading and remodeling. This effort is expected to be completed by June of this year at an approximate cost of $700 thousand dollars. The council had budgeted $900 thousand for this project.

Almost All NW LA Sales Taxes Rise

In December '25 NW LA sales tax jurisdictions saw a jump in 5 of the 6 major bodies.  The only decline in receipts deposited was in the City of Shreveport. Shreveport levies a 2.75% rate on a calendar fiscal year. Its December tally of $13,041,962 was a 1.7% drop from last year's $13,271,526.

CADDO COMMISSION’S REBUFF OF COMMISSIONER EPPERSON’S  RESOLUTIONS SENDS MESSAGE ON THURSDAY PRESIDENT ELECTION

The Caddo Commission rejected two resolutions proposed by commissioner Ken Epperson at its work session yesterday (Mon.)The first was a request by Epperson to travel to Memphis Tenn. to inspect a data center that had the reputation of being a third world facility.

CADDO COMMISSIONER EPPERSON’S PURPOSED DATA CENTER TRIP IS A RUSE

Caddo Commissioner Ken Epperson opposed the approval of the Shreveport City Council of the special use permit for a proposed data center that is in his Commission district. The Shreveport City Council UNANIMOUSLY approved the data center.

SALE OF CADDO LAKE WATER TO DATA CENTER WILL REQUIRE APPROVAL OF TWO AGENCIES

KTBS has reported that a Denver-based company has purchased 556 acres of land in north Caddo Parish on State Line Road and Blanchard Latex Road.  The property is near Mooringsport and Karnack. KTBS reported that there is speculation that a data center could be located on this property.
