Caddo Sheriff Henry Whitehorn has purchased the old Mitsubishi dealership facility at the auto mall for $5.45 million.
The Caddo Sheriff has issued $7.5 million in revenue bonds to fund this acquisition. The bonds will be repaid out of the Sheriff’s General Fund.
The Sheriff plans to spend approximately $3 million on renovations to accommodate his operations.
When appearing before the Caddo Commission seeking funding for this purchase, Sheriff Whitehorn was asked if he planned on moving his seventh-floor offices out of Government Plaza.
Whitehorn declined to answer the inquiry.
