NW LA sales taxing bodies reveal mixed June results. All 3 in Caddo Parish reflect lower receipts than 2025. However, 2 of 3 Bossier Parish entities show growth.
The City of Shreveport imposes its 2.75% sales & use tax on a calendar fiscal year. Its June tally is 1.3% less than 2025, $13,784,324 vs $13,964,146. At mid-year it is 1.3% above last year, $84,145,131 vs $83,090,346.
The Caddo Parish School Board has a 1.5% sales tax rate and operates on the July 1 to June 30 fiscal year. Its June deposit of $9,187,503 is 4.1% less than June 2025's $9,583,126. For its full fiscal year just finished, it is 3.7% higher, $113,230,551 against $109,162,250.
The Law Enforcement District of Caddo, the Sheriff, levies a 0.35% sales tax, employing a calendar fiscal year. In June its receipts are down 4.1%, $2,143,928 vs $2,236,315. Fiscally, at its halfway point, however, it is up 3.8%, $13,370,832 vs $12,888,432 a year ago.
The Bossier Parish School Board, like Caddo Parish, uses the July 1 to June 30 fiscal year. June's total. $6,087,247, is 5.3% up from 2025's $5,782,538. The full fiscal $73,249,339 is 9.2% up from $67,067,210.
Bossier City-Parish follows a calendar fiscal year. A June figure of $5,489099 is 1.7% below $5,585,721 in 2025. Its midpoint sum, $33,575,577, is 0.4% up from last year's six-month figure of $33,446,180.
The Bossier Parish Police Jury also has a calendar fiscal year. June indicates a robust 17.9% bump up from 2025, $1,383,399 vs $1,156,103 a year back. More strikingly, its mid-year $8,097,508 deposit is 26.9% greater than the $6,382,819 from 2025.
