Caddo Parish Sheriff Henry Whitehorn has instituted a home incarceration ankle monitoring program to lower the inmate count at Caddo Correctional Center (CCC).
As of September 8, 14 inmates were actively participating in the program. Of these nine are serving misdemeanor jail sentences and five are pre-trial inmates awaiting court disposition of their cases.
The Sheriff’s requirements for consideration include past criminal history, crimes of violence and domestic violence.
165 inmates who applied for this program were denied entry.
Since inception three inmates have violated the terms and conditions of the program, resulting in revocation, and their return to CCC.
More information has been requested including the inception date, the ankle monitoring company and the established criteria for the program.
