5 of 6 major NW LA sales taxing bodies saw a rise in their September receipts vs 2025. Only Bossier City -Parish fell.
The City of Shreveport levies a 2.75% sales tax and uses a calendar fiscal year. Its September deposit of $14,570,084 is 7.6% more than the $13,535,760 a year ago. Year-to-date its sum, $128,015,394, is 2.4% above 2025's $125,008,709.
The Caddo Parish School Board assesses a 1.5% sales tax on a July 1 to June 30 school fiscal year. Its collection for September is up 15.4%, $10,180,561 vs $8,824,644. In the 3 months of its fiscal year, its $31,110,301 is 13.6% higher than the like 2025 period, when $27,389,641 was received.
The Law Enforcement District of Caddo, the Sheriff, levies a 0.35% sales tax on a calendar fiscal year. Its deposit for September, $2,376,095 is a 15.4% increase from last year when it garnered $2,059,425. Through 9 months, its total of $20,631,034 is 7.0% greater than 2025's $19,278,316.
Bossier City-Parish, using a calendar fiscal year, is a bit down vs last year, in September and YTD, $5,806,505 vs $5,871,695 and $50,938,246 vs $51,014,061, respectively, a 1.1% drop for September, 0.2% less through 9 months.
The Bossier Parish School Board, employing the July 1 to June 30 fiscal year, reflects a 3.5% increase in September, $6,313,795 vs $6,102,889. For 3 fiscal months, its deposit of $18,777,457 is 3.3% more than last year's $18,183,790.
The Bossier Parish Police Jury, on a calendar fiscal year, is 10.6% higher in September, $1,389,239 vs $1,256,492. In 9 fiscal months, its $12,201,531 is 21.9% more than in 2025, when $19,009,531 was realized, a strong growth.
