Shreveport’s Chief Financial Officer Sherricka Jones has forwarded to Shreveport city council members budget reductions totaling $19.3 million. Jones advised that additional measures are being considered although not yet finalized.
Mayor Perkins and Jones have previously advised the council that the COVID-19 shutdown would cost the city approximately $25 million in revenues through the month of April. Total lost revenues are dependent on the duration of the public health emergency, the pace of recovery and consumer spending.
