COUNTRY FOLKS CAN RELAX ON MPC BOAT/RV CITATIONS

The Caddo Commission’s Unified Development Code (UDC) covers properties within a 5 mile radius of the Shreveport city limits.

The UDC is administered by the Shreveport Caddo Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC).

Recently many parish residents were cited for having boats and recreational vehicles (RVs) on their property.

The UDC prohibits these unless screened and not visible from the street.

MPC Executive Director Alan Clarke advised the Caddo Commission at its meeting yesterday (Thurs. Nov.21) that the citations would not be pursued. He also said that his staff would review this UDC requirement along with others affecting parish residents.

Clarke has earned high marks both with the commission and the city council for his MPC leadership. This comments yesterday were a further testament to the positive direction and attitude of the MPC staff since his appointment.
