The Deputy Chief of Police, Antwoine White, is the second-highest ranking member of the police department and assists the chief of police with the management and administration of the overall function of the department. In the absence of the chief of police, the deputy chief of police may perform all duties of the chief. In addition to the CAA, the assistant chiefs of police report directly to the deputy chief.
Antwoine White began his career with the Shreveport Police Department in February of 2000. Following his completion of the Basic Law Enforcement Academy, Chief White served as a patrol officer for the next nine years of his career. He then worked as a downtown/ mounted patrol officer for three years, a school resource officer for three years and finally as a juvenile investigator for two years. Once he was promoted to the rank of sergeant, Antwoine was the Sex Crimes Unit supervisor for two years prior to his appointment to deputy chief of police.
"Antwoine was a member of the U.S. Navy Reserve for four years as well. He brings a wealth of knowledge and professionalism to our command staff, and I look forward to his leadership and vision." (SPD Chief Ben Raymond)
