COMMISSION AND COUNCIL WRAPPING UP ANOTHER YEAR

You know its almost the end of another year when the Caddo Commission and the Shreveport city council adopt their budgets for the next year. The Commission voted on the 2020 budget on Thursday, Dec. 5.

The Council must approve the 2020 budget by Dec. 16. It is anticipated this will be accomplished at the Tues. Dec. 10 meeting. Budget amendments will be introduced by at least 3 council members at the Monday work session: Levette Fuller, John Nickelson, and Grayson Boucher.

In other news, council member Willie Bradford will not introduce the anticipated Cross Bayou legislation at the Monday Dec. 9 meeting. Bradford is fine tuning his proposal and it could be introduced at the council’s last meeting of the year on Dec.19. Any Cross Bayou legislation can not be adopted until on the council’s agenda for at least two weeks.

The Inquisitor will have a second 8 page special section on Cross Bayou in the upcoming Dec. 13 meeting. This will include pictures of Cross Bayou east of the Convention Center and detailed information on the developers, the needed tax incentives, the various government agreements that must be executed and much more.
