John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

CADDO COMMISSION TO APPOINT NEW MPC MEMBER

Theron Jackson announced his resignation from the Shreveport Caddo Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC) at its July 10 meeting.

Jackson was a Caddo Commission appointee. His resignation becomes offical when he submits it to the Caddo Commission.

The Commission has 4 appointments and the Shreveport city council has 4 appointments to the MPC Board. The Commission and the council have one joint appointment.

The city and the commission fund the MPC, which is a separate independent government agency.

The Commission’s next regular meeting will the first week in August. Whether or not a replacement will be named for Jackson at the Aug. 8 meeting is unknown at this time.
