UPDATE: WELLS WITHDRAWS…COURT CHALLENGES FOR CANDIDACY OF NORTON, WELLS AND DAVID

UPDATE: WELLS WITHDRAWS….

Barbara Norton candidacy for state senate district 39 has been challenged by incumbent senator Greg Tarver. This case will be heard tomorrow–Friday–before Judge Craig Marcotte at 9:30 am.

Tarver has also filed challenging the candidacy of Shante Wells. This has been set before Judge Ramon Lafitte on Mon. Aug 19 at 9:30 am.

David Hylan has challenged the candidacy of Chris David. This case is also assigned to Lafitte and it has been also set for Mon. Aug. 19 at 9:30 am.

Louisiana law requires that election challenge cases must be heard within 4 calendar days of filing. Thus Monday is last day to hear the Wells and David cases.

Caddo cases are randomly assigned by computer. Lafitte was assigned both Wells and David.

What order of the cases will be heard on Mon. is unknown at this time. The Wells challenge was filed first. It is possible that another Caddo judge will hear either Wells or David cases.
