NO SPD CHIEF NAME ON SHREVEPORT CITY COUNCIL AGENDA

Yep–its still a mystery as to who Shreveport Mayor Adrian Perkins will nominated to be the next Shreveport permanent police chief.

The city council agenda for Monday’s work session was just posted. It has NOTHING on the police chief.

That means that this decision can NOT be made on Tuesday unless the council adds to the agenda the police chief nomination.

This will require a unanimous vote of the council. Seemingly all would vote to add this to agenda so this selection can be completed.

By state law, a new police chief must be selected within 60 days of a vacancy in that position.

Former SPD chief Alan Crump resigned effective July31. Thus, the time line to name a new chief is Sat. Sept. 28.
