Finances big difference in Bossier City Judge race

If campaign money wins elections, then Santi Parks will walk away with the Bossier City judge election.

If a prior election campaign is the ticket, then Cynthia Carroll-Bridges will be the Nov. 3 winner.

The campaign finance reports are quite contrasting.

Parks has raised over $71,000. Carroll-Bridges’ contributions were less than $6,000.

Parks has loaned his campaign $9,000. Carroll-Bridges had loans exceeding $20,600.

At the end of the Sept. 24 reporting period, Parks had cash in hand of over $42,000. Carroll-Bridges’ funds on hand were a little less than $13,000.

Carroll-Bridges ran a respectable, albeit unsuccessful, campaign for the Bossier-Webster district judgeship in 2017.

Carroll-Bridges may get a boost from women voters. There has never been a female Bossier City judge.

Parks is closely aligned with the current Bossier City Judge Tommy Wilson. The two have shared law offices for many years.

Parks is considered to be the favorite. Carroll-Bridges may pull off what many will consider to be an upset.
