John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR SLT ACADEMY’S ‘FLAT STANLEY’

The Shreveport Little Theatre Academy’s box office is now open for their production of “The Musical Adventure of Flat Stanley Jr.” Based on the beloved children’s book written by Jeff Brown, everyone’s favorite two-dimensional hero has a new life in this production.

Stanley Lambchop is your ordinary, everyday 10-year-old until the bulletin board on the wall above his bed comes loose and falls right on top of him. The next morning, Stanley wakes up flat. In a whirlwind musical travelogue, Stanley, the ultimate exchange student, scours the globe for a solution to his unusual problem. He’s stamped, posted and canceled from Hollywood and France to Honolulu and beyond, all in an effort to become a three-dimensional boy once more.

Stanley’s journey takes him all across the globe to may interesting locales, filled with lots of colorful characters, which make for great casting opportunities.

The musical is directed by SLTA’s artistic director, Laura Beeman Nugent, with music direction by Liesl Cruz. Georgette Berne serves as assistant director.

The cast is led by Fox Petzold as Stanley, Kristoffer Berg as Arthur, Sydney R. as Mrs. Lambchop, Gil Pedrotty as Mr. Lambchop and Annabeth Leal as Mrs. Cartero. The supporting cast includes Caroline Thornton, Gracie Wilkes, Elizabeth Grace Ivie, Arya Evans, Mary Rose Pedrotty, George Berne and Maggie Wise.

Virtual performances are scheduled for Dec. 11 at 6 p.m., Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. and Dec. 13 at 2 p.m.
