John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

BOSSIER CITY COUNCIL REGARDS CIVIC CENTER AS DEAD WEIGHT

Since its completion in 1987, the Bossier Civic Center (BCC) has been a landmark building and venue in our area. It’s been the place where memories were made and countless items were bought and sold. Despite that history and despite hosting over a hundred events annually, its future is unclear. Will it continue to be a public space? Will it continue to be the property of the citizens of Bossier City? Since the beginning of the year, city council members have declared the building to be “surplus,” and they’ve moved toward leasing it.
