CHURCHES SHOULD FOLLOW 10 PERSON RULE

Attendance all local churches and other houses of worship is important to everyone’s religious faith.   And so is compliance with public safety mandates from elected officials.

Governor John Bel Edwards has issued several public emergency proclamations concerning the deadly COVID-19.  One is to limit gatherings to a maximum of 10 people.

The overwhelming majority of Shreveport Bossier houses of worship are complying with this call for public safety and have suspended in person religious meetings. But at least one church this past Sunday did not.

Over 20 cars were observed yesterday at a church in Southeast Shreveport.  Songs of worship were heard from the street.

Obviously this church was in violation of the social gathering rule. Seemingly the pastor, a man of God, recognizes the reality of this virus and the harm of having his congregation continue to meet in person to worship.
