SHOULD SHREVEPORT PROHIBIT FIREWORKS IN RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS?

That's a question that the Shreveport city council will have on its May 27 agenda.

Councilman James Green has introduced an amendment to the city's firework's ordinance that prohibits the discharge, ignition or explosion of fireworks in residential districts.

The proposed amendment exempts residential districts zoned R-1 Rural Agricultural Zoning District and R-E Residential Estate Zoning.

The new council District A interim appointee will be in office to vote on this proposal.
