NO SMOKING BAN IMPEDES SALE OF EL DORADO CASINO

In January of this  year it was reported that Shreveport's Eldorado Casino was to be sold to Maverick Gaming LLC.

The sale was part of a restructuring to facilitate a merger of Caesar's Entertainment and Eldorado Resorts. If completed, Eldorado would then own Horseshoe Casino , Harrah's Louisiana Downs, and Harrah's land-based casino in New Orleans.

The Maverick deal fell apart.

In April Eldorado Resorts announced a potential sale of the El Dorado casino to Twin River Worldwide Holdings, Inc.

Twin River has now pulled out of the proposed sale. The recent enactment of a no smoking ban in Shreveport casinos was a cited reason.

Eldorado Casino had prior to the COVID-19 pandemic over 1200 employees
