John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

PUTTING LIPSTICK ON THE PIG AGAIN

The flashy new condo development in Ledbetter Heights is being called by local architects, “the new Jackson Heights Projects except built with poorer quality materials” and “another warehouse for poor people.” It will be situated on land that has been cleared next to the old Millennium Studios property that was built when we made movies here.

The Choice Neighborhood property is indeed a “stone’s throw from downtown.” If developed properly, it could be unbelievably valuable and productive for the city and parish too. But with the usual matching money, state, local and in this case federal HUD dollars, it promises “woodstyle floors” and a dog park.
