John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

CANDIDATES MOUTON & WOOD--SOCIAL SECURITY OR JUDGESHIP?

There are 3 candidates for an open judgeship on the Shreveport city court: Emily Settle Merckle, Edward Mouton, and Paul Wood.

The judges will take office on Jan. 1.

Wood will be 62 on Jan. 9.  He can draw social security on his birthday.

Mouton will be 64 in March of next year. He can draw social security now.

Merckle will be 34 in March  2021.

The other city court judges--Pamela Lattier, Sheva Sims and Brian Barber--have no opposition for reelection.
 
Lattier was elected to fill an unexpired term in 2008.  She is 58.

Sims was elected to fill an unexpired term in 2011. She is 53.

Barber was elected in 2014. He is 54.

The city judges serve  a 6 year term.
