Crime Center registry can create a safer Shreveport

Chief Technology Officer

City of Shreveport

The Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) is deploying a resident and business camera registry to allow citizens and businesses to help make Shreveport safer.

Our goal is to reduce the time it takes to collect video evidence for investigators of crimes in your neighborhood and near your businesses.

If you already have cameras at your home or business, the simplest way to do your part in creating a safer Shreveport is to register your contact information with us. You can do so by going to www.ShreveportLA.gov/rtcc , where you’ll find answers to common questions, as well as a link to sign up.

Registration is free and doesn’t give direct access to your cameras.

It will allow RTCC analysts an opportunity to send an email or text with a secure link where you can upload footage that will help solve cases more quickly.

For businesses that want the fastest support with the least headache, we have a small piece of hardware we can help you install that will give live camera feed access as well as historical access instantly. Data retention is determined by the business owners.

If you’d like more information or a one-on-one meeting, please email kevin.thomas@shreveportla.gov (our RTCC manager) or keith.hanson@shreveportla.gov (CTO).

More cameras for Real Time Crime Center will mean more crimes solved
