CADDO COMMISSION COMMITTEE TO CONSIDER DRILLING RESTRICTIONS

On Mon. Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. the Natural Resources Committee of the Caddo Commission will have a meeting to review a proposed resolution affecting oil and gas drilling in Caddo Parish.

The committee is chaired by Roy Burrell. Its other members are Ken Epperson, Ed Lazarus, John-Paul Young and Commission president Lyndon B. Johnson.

The proposed resolution is to "urge and request the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources to consider the negative impacts of oil and gas drilling in or near urban areas, impalement rules to combat these negative impacts, and to otherwise provide with respect thereto."

The resolution has 12 points that may or may not be contrary to the rules and regulations of the Natural Resources Department, the standard oil and gas leases utilized in Caddo Parish and/or Louisiana law.
