The Shreveport-Bossier Tourist & Convention (SBTC) received a $360,000 Payroll Protection Program (PPP) loan in January of this year.
This loan may be forgiven, in whole or part, depending on compliance with the terms of the loan.
As a public agency, the Louisiana State Bond Commission must preapprove any loans to the SBTC.
The April 18 agenda of the Bond Commission has an application by the SBTC for approval for another PPP loan not to exceed $1 million. This request is for any future PPP loans that may be available to the SBTC.
The SBTCB derives its income from the hotel/motel taxes in Caddo and Bossier Parishes.
The COVID pandemic resulted in a severe decline in local hotel/motel bookings since the outbreak last March.
