PARKWAY TEEN HELPS LOG ONE MILLION ACTS OF KINDNESS ON GIVING TUESDAY

Parkway High School student Brianna Cooley is a passionate advocate for volunteering and kindness.

As a serial problem solver, Brianna has developed numerous initiatives to address issues she has seen in each community she has lived in. As a blogger with Every Warrior Network and InspireUp Foundation, she shares about life as a military child and conquering transitions through act of kindness, community service and volunteering.

Brianna serves as the founder and director of Lil Warriors Kindness Krewe promoting mentoring of young students to find their purpose though service to others.

As a youth leader for Giving Tuesday Military, Brianna helped to lead the effort to log one million act of kindness on Giving Tuesday.

Brianna has secured over 13,000 Acts of Kindness in Northwest Louisiana for Giving Tuesday Military and has led the efforts across three social media platforms to strategically motivate volunteers through content creation and interviewing.

In 2020, Brianna was able to recognize 26 of her volunteers with PVSA for their combined 10,500 volunteer hours in Northwest Louisiana.

World Kindness Day 2020 was an exciting day for Brianna partnering with Kendra Scott Jewelry to gift nearly $10,000 in necklaces to 140 local military members and spouses, creating and implementing a community “Thank her for her service” card campaign with her local storefront, and fundraising to send three local airmen home for Christmas.

Brianna is always seeking out ways to ease the transition for military children relocating around the world. She is proud to serve as the co-president of her school’s S2S initiative and together with her position in leadership as class president has developed a wrap around approach to welcoming the new student and increasing inclusion through #PantherPals23.

Recently, she was selected to her Community Foundation’s Teen Board to work to end bullying and create policy to make our children in Louisiana’s life better.

As an advocate for military children, Brianna is currently the only student in the U.S. to be working to bring MCEC’s Purple School Designator to her local district and state, but is working fiercely to learn the process and help other students advocate in their districts for the program.

Brianna has been interviewed for several publications locally and nationally and is always eager to speak with other community leaders about the importance of kindness and serving others.
