John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

A CONVERSATION WITH BOSSIER CITY’S NEW MAYOR

After serving Bossier City for some 16 years as mayor, Lorenz Walker was defeated last month by businessman Tommy Chandler.

With such big shoes to fill, Chandler has been extremely busy familiarizing himself with the city’s various departments, leaders, and city councilmen. He will be sworn in as mayor on July 1.

Focus SB caught up with Chandler, who found time to chat about his victory and future plans for the city.
