Caddo Commissioner Steven Jackson regularly drives an SUV formerly owned by the Lousiana State Police. The words “State Trooper” are clearly visible over both front wheel wells.
He parks the vehicle in the garage at Government Plaza when he attends meetings of the commission.
And he always back the car up to the garage wall.
On June 1 his car did not have any license tag when he attended the commission work session.
No dealer tag. No temporary tag. No visible authorization to drive the vehicle without a license tag.
Reportedly, the vehicle never has any tag when driven to commission meetings.
Jackson is licensed by the Louisiana Used Motor Vehicle Commission as an employee of BMD Motivations, LLC.
BMD is a licensed used motor vehicle dealer. Demarcus Jones is the owner of this company.
Jackson buys cars at auto auctions and then “flips” them to third parties. Wheter or not he complies with the applicalbel rules / regulations is an open question.
Jackson has been observed on several occasions driving vehicles without tags.
Law enforcement officials advise that it is illegal to drive a vehicle without any tags.
Seemingly Jackson, who has an advanced college decree, should know the law on vehicle tags.
Does Jackson have some special exception as a Caddo Commissioner? Jackson regularly complains to the media if there is any press that does not bolster his ego or is critical of his actions.
No doubt this will be the case with this news story.
Stay tuned.
