MISSISSIPPI TOURIST GUIDE IN SUNDAY SHREVEPORT TIMES!

My Sunday Shreveport Times was delivered with  a "MISSISSIPI Official Tour Guide" nestled in the comics and advertising inserts.

Its  a slick full  color 154 publication that matches in quality anything published locally.

The magazine has features on Literature & Film, the Mississippi Experience, Arts & Culture, Music, Food, The Mississippi Story, Outdoor Adventure,
National Heritage Areas, and Win Big in Mississippi.

Practically every page has ads which obviously funded the publication and distribution of this magazine.

The tourist guide is impressive if for no other reason that is was distributed in the Sunday paper!

I wonder how many were distributed locally, and how many throughout Louisiana and for that matter other states?

Tourism has always been a  big contributor to the Louisiana economy, and especially in the southern part of the state.

Evidently it is in Mississippi as well.

As I dumped the Times out of its rain bag, the tourist guide landed with a big thump on my kitchen table.

From the perspective of our state's economy, the guide was like a lump of coal from Santa.

Ugh!
