John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

MONTGOMERY IS ‘DADDY WARBUCKS’ ON BOSSIER CITY TRAVEL EXPENSES

When it comes to travel, Bossier City Councilman David Montgomery is a big-time player when the city of Bossier picks up the tab.

A public records request for “travel and training” expenses of all council members was made for the years 2010 through 2020. The big spender was none other than David Montgomery.

Here is Montgomery’s expense log:

2011: $3,368
2014: $3,169
2015: $2,842
2016: $1,145
2017: $828
2018: $3,969
2019: $2,388
TOTAL: $18,842

During that same time period, Councilman Jeff Darby rang up $3,029 in travel and training expenses.
Jeff Free joined the council in 2013, and his travel and training expenses since then are $2,498.
