SEXCAPADE COVERUP BY SHREVEPORT POLICE DEPARTMENT?

It has not been completely confirmed but a sufficient number of sources lead this writer to believe there is truth to the current scuttlebutt circulating around Shreveport Police Department (SPD) headquarters about a sexcapade involving  a high ranking SPD officer.

The word on the street is that a secretary walked in on an SPD officer who was enjoying oral sex from SPD officer. Sources say that a  report of the incident, which occurred a few weeks back, was sitting on the desk of chief Ben Raymond when the left office as police chief. With all the flak Raymond endured after  his resignation was requested on June 2, its no surprise he took no action on this matter.

So now interim chief Wayne Smith gets a real dose of the challenges of his position.

Fortunately for him violent crime while continuing has not been as bad as the last few weeks of Raymond's tour of duty.
An internal investigation has been started, but unlike in other high profile cases no one has been suspended with pay as per the norm standard operating procedure.

How this unwinds will be a litmus paper test for Smith, and for that matter Mayor Perkins. Many citizens have not been pleased with how the mayor handled the real time crime center and change of police chief announcements.
