John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

GRADING THE COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS PROCESSING RENTAL ASSISTANCE APPLICATIONS

The Caddo Commission contracted with five local nonprofit organizations to process applications for the rental assistance program.

The response to a public records request provides some information on the efforts of these groups.

Catholic Charites last report was filed in Dec. 2021. It shows that 205 out of 279 applications were approved for funding. That is an approval percentage of 73.4%.

Northwest Louisiana Community Development Corporation's last filed report was in May 2021. It reflects that 253 out of 376 applications were approved. This is an approval percentage of 67.2%.

United Way's last report was filed in Nov. 2021. It shows that 9 out of 21 applications were approved for funding. This is an approval percentage of 42.8%.

Providence House last filed report was in July 2021. it shows that 8 out of 48 applications were approved for funding. This is an approval percentage of 16.6%.

Grace Project's last report was filed in May 2021. It reflects 10 out of 74 applications were approved for funding. This is an approval percentage of 13.5%.
