SHOULD NEW COUNCIL MEMBER JACKSON STAY ON TOURIST CONVENTION BUREAU BOARD?

Shreveport mayor Adrian Perkins nominated now council member Alan D. Jackson to the Shreveport-Bossier Tourist and Convention Board after Matt Snyder resigned.

Jackson was confirmed by the Shreveport city council at its Nov. 19,2021 meeting.

The Tourist Bureau was NOT advised of Jackson's appointment and thus he was not invited to its Dec. 16, 2021 meeting.

Until a call today from this author, the Bureau had no official knowledge of Jackson's appointment.

Its an open question if Jackson can serve both on this board and the Shreveport city council.

What is known is that Mayor Perkins obviously had a relationship with Jackson before his appointment to the council by Gov. John Bel Edwards.
