Mavice Hughes Thigpen is a candidate for the District B council seat being vacated by Levette Fuller.
When Thigpen registered to vote she listed 1721 Oakdale as her residence. This property is actually owned by her mother.
This house is very, very modest. In fact, many would consider it to be almost substandard.
James Carstensen also filed for the District B council seat.
Carstensen listed his address as 913 Prospect. This house is owned by his parents.
Reportedly Thigpen does NOT reside on Oakdale. She previously had a very large high-end home in another district that was sold this year.
Reportedly Carstensen does not reside with his parents on Prospect. A Facebook post indicates he now lives in Sarasota Fla.
The time period to challenge the residency of candidates is long past.
However, the reality of where candidates actually lives IS very important.
One can expect that photographs of these two houses along with the actual persons living there coming and going will appear in social media before the election.
Additionally other evidence of where these candidates actually reside is expected.
The credibility of a candidate should be paramour to voters. And that starts with the most basic question of where a candidate really lives.
