Judge Marcus Hunter of the Second Circuit Court of Appeals meet retired Caddo District Judge Frank Thaxton.
Judge Thaxton meet Judge Hunter.
When y’all meet again, only Thaxton will be wearing a black robe.
Judge Hunter will be in Judge Thaxton's Caddo court room on Mon, Nov. 28 at 2 p.m.
The hearing will hear a request by Judge Hunter to void an order from the city of Shreveport to demolish the remaining ruins of 114 Texas and clean up the lot.
Hopefully Judge Hunter will not argue his inaccurate if not fraudulent claim that any action by him should be delayed to complete the arson investigation of Shreveport Fire Department.
Evidently Hunter, who lives in Monroe, does not listen to KEEL radio. Less than a week after the fire, Shreveport Fire Chief Clarence Reece announced his investigation was complete and it was unsafe to send this people back into the building.
Hunter's lame duck excuse of putting low to moderate income housing in the location has nothing to do with cleaning up the lot. Nor any claims that historical tax credits and/or a pending loan/grant from the Louisiana Housing Commission have any relevance in this case.
For those that finally want this building/ruins cleaned up they should have hope.
Judge Thaxton is a great no nonsense judge who will not give any special treatment to a fellow wearer of the black robe. In fact, he may (and should) be much more circumspect of any arguments of Hunter/his council.
Judge Hunter should be ashamed of his abuse of the legal system for filing his action.
Hopefully when the dust settles, the Louisiana Judiciary Commission will review the actions of Hunter.
