WHY IS COUNCIL WOMAN TABATHA TAYLOR AT SHREVEPORT CRIME SCENES?

Maybe she is bored.

Maybe she is a closet vigilante.

Maybe she just likes real time crime drama more than TV drama.

She has earned perfect attendance at press conferences at the SPD headquarters where she corners the higher ups in private conversations.

It’s no secret that Taylor seems to show up at high publicity crime events like police stand-offs. She has talked about her uninvited involvement frequently at city council meetings this year.

Many of these instances are not in her district. She likes to tote the water for her minister and fellow council member James Green. Her last crime scene report noted that it was in Green's district and she acted as his agent.

So, what's the deal?

Is her presence a detriment or impediment to established police protocols?

Maybe Taylor is a self-appointed police/crime/victim ombudsman.

Her actions are clearly out of bounds as to her duties as a council member.

Taylor along with Green and fellow council member Alan Jackson were big supporters of Mayor Perkins.

She was caught in the crosshairs during the run-off election in the continuing feud between Representative Cedric Glover who represents her MLK area and Senator Greg Tarver.

With a new mayor taking office on Dec. 31 along with two new council members who will not be her ally, Taylor better trim her sails. She may find herself on an island with Green and Jackson when it comes to council actions.

In the meantime, she would be wise to cut off her police monitor, stop abusing her council position by leaning on high-ranking police officers for scoops, and spend her time knitting or finding a job for the significant other Ron Lattier who will lose his par time salary of almost $160 grand a year.
