QUESTIONS ABOUT CANDIDATE WADDELL GARRETT'S PUSHCARD

Caddo judge Erin Leigh Waddell Garrett is a candidate for an open seat on the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. She is opposed by Caddo judge Craig Marcotte.

Erin Leigh's campaign has encountered serious headwinds over the display of her campaign signs at the recent Krewe of Justian Grand Bal.

The Krewe is a committee of the Shreveport Bar Association, which is a non-profit entity.

A major "no no" for non-profits is ANY political activities. The campaign signs were a clear violation of these standards.

Now another campaign tactic by Erin Leigh is being questioned.

She has a campaign push card that lists her qualifications. One of these is "Caddo Parish School Teacher."

Reportedly Erin Leigh never was employed as a full-time teacher by Caddo Parish.  Sources say that she was a substitute teacher for less than 10 school days.

Judicial candidates are held to a high standard for campaign activities by the Louisiana Judiciary Commission and the Louisiana Ethics Commission. Any complaints and/or investigations of judicial candidates are privileged.

Judicial races generally rank under the categories of watching grass grow and paint on the wall dry, but Erin Leigh is certainly adding a little sizzle to March 26 election.
