JOHN E. SETTLE JR
By now everyone who keeps up with social media has viewed a video of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscar presentations.
Smith was angered by Chris' joke poking fun at his wife.
Smith has been castigated by many critics for his actions, despite an apology shortly thereafter when he accepted his Oscar.
Smith's wife suffers from alopecia which is an autoimmune condition that attacks the hair follicles.
Perhaps the only constructive aspect of the incident is the public education on alopecia that has resulted from "the slap".
While Will is being pulverised by the media, perhaps Chris should be subject to scrutiny. When did it become acceptable to make jokes about audience members on national TV at a highly publicized event?
