John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

LAWSUIT FILED CHALLENGING MAYOR PERKINS RESIDENCY


Francis Deal has filed a lawsuit objecting to the candidacy of Mayor Adrian Perkins.

The attorneys are Jerald R. Harper and Hugo A. Holland, Jr.

The case has bee assigned to Caddo Judge Mike Pitman.

The suit alleges that Perkins filed a false and inaccurate Notice of Candidacy.

Perkins is a registered voter with an address of 9605 Stratmore, which reportedly is his mothers home.

This is the address he listed on his Notice of Candidacy.

Perkins has filed a homestead exemption on a residence at 719 Marshal Street.

This is the basis for the allegation of a false and inaccurate Notice of Candidacy.

Candidacy challenges are heard on an expedited basis. Once this case has been set for a hearing, an
email will be sent out.

It is not known at this time who will represent Perkins in this litigation.
