John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

SETTLE VS CITY OF SHREVEPORT CASE TO BE BRIEFED NOT TRIED

This case seeks a judicial determination as to who was properly elected as chairman of the Shreveport City Council at its special meeting on Dec. 31.

The hearing on this matter was set for tomorrow, Thurs. Jan. 12.

The parties have agreed to submit the case for a ruling by Caddo district judge Brady O'Callaghan.

The court will review briefs by the parties and the following exhibits:

a. the public notice of this meeting

b. draft minutes of this meeting

c. the city council rules

d. video of the council meeting on Dec. 31.

Briefs are to be submitted by Jan. 20 and O'Callaghan will enter a written ruling by Feb. 3.
