John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

REQUEST FOR RESTRAINING ORDER FILED AGAINST CADDO COMMISSIONER STEVEN JACKSON

On Wed. Jan. 4 a Caddo resident filed a petition for protection from abuse naming Caddo Commissioner Steven Jackson on Thurs. Jan. 5.

D.W. (Note: name withheld to protect identity) made several serious charges against Jackson.

The petition alleges many acts by Jackson:

a. that he cut he AC electrical cord to her home

b. that he came to her residence after being asked to never appear

c. continually contacting her by texts

d. send her $1000 which was not requested and was returned

e. texting her 9 year old daughter without her permission

f. texting her daughter with a request to delete the texts sent by him to her.

D.W stated that she filed two police reports against Jackson on Jan. 2 and Jan. 3 of this year.

The case has been assigned to Caddo District Judge Katherine C. Dorroh.

It is anticipated that Judge Dorroh will issue a protective order against Jackson today.
