Many of Jackson's big contributions to his campaign are from out-of-town businesses. One thing they have in common is the construction/construction building related business. He also has big bucks from local companies in the construction/housing business.
There is a very good likelihood they these companies have done business with the Louisiana Housing Corporation in the last few years. Or maybe they hope to be the benefactor of the housing corporation funds.
Jackson has been on this state board for many years and has served in many capacities. He is the representative of the 4th Congressional District and is the chairman of the Programs Committee.
Jackson's most recent Candidate Report reflects contributions of over $20,000 from out-of-town donors, many of which appear to be in the building and/or building related business. It also reflects local contributions exceeding $12,000 from building/property management companies.
Maybe it’s just coincidence. But donors usually don't make big buck contributions unless they have a vested interest the candidate can help or has received favorable treatment from the candidate.
