John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

COMPARING CADDO EARLY VOTING IN PRIMARY VERSUS GENERAL ELECTION

Early voting for the Oct. 14 primary was 15,300 compared to 13,650 for the upcoming Nov. 18 general election... This is drop of 1650 votes.

In the primary the Democrats outvoted the Republicans by 2482 votes. For the upcoming general election the Democrat margin over the Republican vote was 2356.

The number of No Party and Independent voters was 118 more in the primary than in Saturday's general election vote.

White voters in the primary outnumbered white voters in the upcoming general election by 1300. Black voters in the primary outvoted black voters for Saturday's general election by 289.

Males in the primary outvoted males in the upcoming general election by 518 votes. Females in the primary outvoted females in Saturday's election by 1131.

Votes by non-blacks and non-whites in the primary exceeded the same voter race classification by 118 votes for the upcoming general election.

Absentee votes for general election were 1951 less than the primary election. The in person early voting in the primary was 301 less than the in person early voting for Saturdays general election.
