ONCE AGAIN SHREVEPORT COUNCIL TO HIRE COUNCIL CLERK WITH NO VETTING

If this tune sounds the same, then it is.

Tomorrow (Tues.) the Shreveport city council will most likely hire a council clerk.

Most likely, because is on the agenda for today's work session and tomorrow's regular meeting.

Councilman James Green and his lackeys Tabatha Taylor and Alan Jackson have conspired to hire a council clerk by secret selection process. Whether or not newbie council member Ursula Bowman is part of this junta is unknown.

The last council clerk vacancy was in Sept. of last year. The then clerk left because of constant badgering by Green and Taylor. She was the only white employee in that office.

This vacancy was filled by Kendra Joseph, handpicked by Green et. al. with no posting of the job vacancy, no applications, no vetting of candidates in an open meeting.

Joseph was a bad hire for many reasons.

She resigned last week, citing undermining, job interference, etc. Sounds like the same plight her predecessor was subjected to as well.

Now the Green team which may include newbie Ursula Bowman have secretly selected Shanerika Fleming.

Fleming is known for her illegal switching of the city' insurance broker before her then to be new boss Adrian Perkins took office.

She is also known for her inflated ego when working for Perkins.

Again, there has been no discussion in an open meeting on filing this position. There has been no job positing and evidently there will not be an open interview.

So much for transparency and adherence to good government principles. But then that seems to be the new order of the day with the Green team.

And in case you are wondering these actions violate the Open Meetings Law because they constitute a walking forum.

But what the heck?

Both Taylor and Jackson committed ethical violations in their prior council service. And Green committed a battery on a store clerk during his last term.
