WHAT'S THE BIG SECRET ON THE HIGH-SPEED CHASE AND OFFICER SHOOTING/SUSPECT DEATH ON SAT. IN BOSSIER CITY?

The well-publicized event happened this past Sat. late afternoon.

A high-speed chase involving the Haughton Police Department, the Bossier Parish Sheriff and the Bossier Police were involved.

The incident ended when the vehicle crashed in 2200 block of East Texas Street near Benton Road.

The car driver/suspect exited the crashed vehicle with a gun and opened fire on officers on the scene.

These officers returned gunfire and the suspect was killed.

The Louisiana State Police assumed investigation of this incident.

To date this reporter has not been able to find any additional information on this crime scene.

An email to the LSP has not been answered.

Seemingly the name of the suspect now deceased should be released.

Additionally, information on the officers involved, what departments and whether or not they are on administrative leave should be provided promptly--like yesterday.

Soo...what’s the holdup on basic information.

Please note that this reporter has NOT complained about no release of the officer names although much further delay in that information is unwarranted.

Its past time for the LSP to inform the public on some of the details.
